Afternoon exercises

Here are some exercises for the end of the school day or after school.

1 Breathing

Take in a deep breath into your tummy and blow out as slow and gently as you can.  Repeat this exercise.

 

2 Positive thinking

Close your eyes and think about one thing that you did today that you were proud of.  Repeat to yourself in your mind ‘I am brilliant’ ‘I am brilliant’ ‘I am brilliant’

 

3 Stretch

Sit on a chair or stand.  Very slowly, drop your head and curl forward.  Imagine you are a snake and are slowly curling forward.  When you can almost touch your toes, just hang there and enjoy the relaxing stretch.  This position is very good for helping you feel calm and quiet.  Stay there for a few moments and then slowly come up from the waist with your first and uncurl your head last.

 

4 Massage

Squeeze your arms and your shoulders.  Use quite a strong grip if you can manage it.  Now take your fist and give your arms and shoulders gentle thumps.

 

5 Ear rub

Squeeze and rub your ears as much as you can.  Feel them tingle.  This will help give you extra energy at the end of a busy day.
